Insidious: Chapter 2 Movie Review

So,
I recently went to see Insidious Chapter 2 with my good friend Terri.
Insidious Chapter 2, directed by James Wan (The Conjuring, Saw) "The haunted Lambert family seeks to uncover the mysterious childhood secret that has left them dangerously connected to the spirit world"

Instead of Rating the movie as a whole out of 10, i will break it down into sections to give a more detailed analysis of the movie.

Plot - 3 Out of 5
I found the plot interesting and from an outsider's point of view the plot sounds intriguing. Reading the plot I felt drawn into "the mysterious childhood secret" element. I know what you're thinking, it just sounds like your typical horror movie plot. However what got me was the "dangerously connected to the spirit world" which gave it a more chilling vibe.

Scariness - 4 Out of 5
This film did make me jump! There are a lot of unexpected jumps during the movie. (SPOILER ALERT) mostly occurring when Parker's mother appears. There are also parts in the movie which leaves you in suspense and think something will jump up at you.

Goriness - 1 Out of 5
The film overall isn't as gory as you think as it's more of a supernatural/ghostly movie. It's purpose is mainly to make you jump and be spooked not to be "creeped out" by blood and guts.

Overall Rating - 7 Out of 10
I would say the movie is definitely worth going to see if you're into jumpy/spooky horrors. If you haven't seen the previous Insidious movie i would suggest watching that first as the two movies intertwine and you will need to watch the first movie to understand main plot lines in the movie.
